Germany's Schaeuble: Eurozone must make more efforts to boost growth
FXStreet (Łódź) - German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said on Thursday in Washington that stimulating growth is of crucial importance for the Eurozone currently and that it won't be "achieved by writing checks."
Schaeuble stressed that EU Member States should adhere to budget rules to make the monetary union function correctly and continue implementing structural reforms to prop up the economic recovery in the region. Especially France and Italy should step up their efforts in that respect, he added.
Schaeuble suggested that Germany was more vulnerable to some risks than other Eurozone countries and that its economy has been weakening recently. In France meanwhile, the situation has been improving.
